3rd Meeting, Estonia, June 2013

Organized by the Man and the Biosphere Programme, the West-Estonian Archipelago biosphere reserve, Jeju Island biosphere reserve and Menorca biosphere reserve the Third Meeting of the Global Network of Island and Coastal Biosphere Reserves took place in the Islands of Hiiumaa and Saaremaa, West-Estonian Archipelago biosphere reserve in Estonia from 3 to 7 June 2013.

The purpose of the this meeting was to bring together representatives of island and coastal biosphere reserves to discuss the main challenges and threats facing these areas - climate change; water, energy and food self-sufficiency; and waste management - and to share experiences and potential solutions.
